If enrollment grows quickly will decommissioned assets (such as the Milneburg Hall and the Liberal Arts Building) be recovered to accommodate an increase in students? (Faculty and Staff)
That would be the ideal plan, yet decisions and timing will depend on the cost required to get buildings up to safety code standards.
Academics
-
When can employees expect to know what non-academic departments are going to be eliminated or have their staff reduced due to the transition and/or AI usage? (Faculty and Staff)
No departments are currently being eliminated. Any future AI capabilities will not eliminate positions, although they could change the scope of positions. Additionally, future AI tools will enable the campus to grow enrollment without having to grow a proportionate number of support roles, meaning AI tools should provide greater efficiency to avoid future costs and enable a better margin to allow for strategic investment.
